A Big Thanks
At the first Session meeting of 2021 we were reviewing the finances of the Church for 2020. As you all know it has been a very difficult year. As well as Covid 19 we have been without a minister. But Ministry hasn’t stopped and neither have our out goings.
On the ministry front we are all grateful to Alan Ward and Moira Crocker for sharing the helm and were delighted to welcome back Marion Howie as our Locum. Marion and Alan are available to help with any pastoral problems you have, so please make sure your friends and neighbours are aware of this.
But back to my remit. As Finance convener I am anxious to see that our income always matches our out goings. The committee knew we had a healthy reserve built which would see us through if necessary. However we have reached the end of the year and met all our commitments and still managed not to go into the red on the current account. This is all down to you, our members; those paying by standing order have continued to do so and many of you donating regularly through the envelope scheme have been filling your envelopes and handing them in. Every member of the Session wished me to pass on their thanks for your generosity. We have lost some of our usual income streams, letting and donations from organisations but you have kept us afloat. Anyone who has envelopes they would like to be uplifted please get in touch with any member of the session.
May God Bless you all for your kindness and generosity and may we meet again in Park Church in the not too distant future.
Liz Rhodes. (Finance Convener)
