CHuRCH CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR WORSHIP

Extensive guidance has been given by the Scottish Government and the Church of Scotland in order to re-open the church safely.
The capacity for the church sanctuary is now only 45 which includes the minister and organist.
This means that some pews have been cordoned off and all bibles, hymn books, cushions and
Gift Aid envelopes have been removed from the pews.
Social distancing also means that only 3 people may sit on the remaining ‘safe’ pews. (Two people on the shorter pews.)
A one -way system has been established through the vestibule into the sanctuary and there are different exit points to be used on leaving the sanctuary to avoid people coming together. The sanctuary will be vacated one pew at a time and ushers will be available to help with exiting as well as seating before the service.
Not all the toilets will be in use, and only one person at a time will be permitted to enter, and there will be no access to the main hall or kitchen.
There will be no tea or coffee served after the service for the time being.
Offering plates have been placed in the vestibule for those who wish to leave an offering, as no offering will be taken during the service, and no hymn singing.
Enhanced cleaning has been arranged so that all surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned before the service each Sunday but for the moment no groups or organisations will be allowed to use the church during the week.
We do not know how many people will attend church for the moment. If it does look like more than the allowed number, then alternative arrangements will be made and there may be 2 services.
Arrangements for the Sunday school have not yet been made, but hopefully soon.
Physical distancing rules and hygiene safeguards have been put in place, and we respectfully ask that you:-
*DO NOT COME to church if you feel at all unwell or have any symptoms of COVID – 19
*wear a face covering at all times
*follow the one-way system set up in the vestibule – keeping to the left
*maintain 2 metre distance at all times as directed by the signs
*use the hand sanitisers which are placed throughout the building and especially before entering the sanctuary
*please wash your hands before coming to church
*write your details for the Trace and protect system in the register. This requires only one member per household to sign.
*please do not congregate outside the main door of the church after the service or in the vestibule.
*please wait outside to be directed if there is a bottleneck in the vestibule
*if you are sitting on the left hand side of the sanctuary, please exit via the side aisle and out through the fire door at the bottom of the church.
*if you are sitting on the right hand side of the church, please exit by the centre aisle and main door.
This may seem an extensive list of rules, but all churches need to follow the same regulations, according to their own particular building. Remember it is for your safety and for the safety of those around you. COVID has not gone away!
